What is the Reddit mobile web experience vs the app

Okay so I've been a Reddit lurker for years, mostly on my laptop, but lately I'm on my phone way more and it's driving me nuts trying to figure out the best way to browse. I tried the mobile web version first because I'm kinda lazy about downloading apps, and it's... fine? Like, it loads fast and I can read stuff, but it feels clunky, you know? Then I downloaded the official Reddit app, and wow, it's so much smoother with notifications and easy upvoting, but I hate how it pushes me to create an account or buy coins or whatever. I'm not sure if I'm missing something—like, is the mobile web just a stripped-down version, or are there hidden perks? I've heard people talk about third-party apps too, but I haven't gone down that rabbit hole yet. Honestly, I just want to scroll through memes and read advice without ads popping up every two seconds. Maybe I'm overthinking this, but what's the real deal between the mobile web and the app?
