How to find niche subreddits that match your hobbies

Okay, so I've been diving deep into my hobbies lately, like urban sketching and fermenting weird veggies, and I really want to find some niche subreddits where people actually get it. I've tried the basic stuff—searching Reddit with generic terms, but it's all flooded with huge communities that don't scratch the itch. Like, I found r/sketching, but it's mostly digital art, and I'm all about pen and paper on the go. And don't get me started on fermentation; r/fermentation is cool, but I want to talk about making kimchi with local ingredients, not just the basics. I'm kinda frustrated because I feel like there's gotta be hidden gems out there, but Reddit's search is just not cutting it. Maybe I'm missing some tricks? I heard about using Google with 'site:reddit. com' and specific keywords, but it still feels hit or miss. Also, I'm not super tech-savvy, so if there are tools or apps that help, I'd love to know. Honestly, I just want to connect with folks who share these oddball interests without wading through tons of irrelevant posts. Any advice would be awesome—thanks for listening to my ramble!
